First Steps Intervention Kit (FSI Kit)

Designed for use by rehabilitation professionals, First Steps Intervention (FSI) is a cognitive and neurobehavioral treatment program complementing the book, First Steps Toward Recovery From Brain Injury (found in the Practical Idea Series - Books section on the left). FSI was designed for use in the early stages of recovery after brain injury and other neurological disorders. Common difficulties addressed include:

  • Concentration Problems
  • Distress
  • Sleep Problems
  • Disorientation
  • Memory Deficits
  • Anger Control
  • Fatigue

The program teaches self-coaching and paves the way to community re-integration for patients and their families. The FSI Kit contains a specialized set of materials for implementing the program including:
